Kaizer Chiefs Chairman befittingly conferred with Wits Honorary Doctorate

JOHANNESBURG - In recognition of his substantial contribution to South Africa’s business landscape over many decades, Kaizer Chiefs Executive Chairman, Dr. Kaizer Motaung, was bestowed with a second honorary doctorate on Tuesday, this time by Wits University’s Faculty of Commerce, Law and Management. Motaung, a successful businessperson, soccer administrator and philanthropist, delivered a speech that struck a chord with graduates from the Faculty of Commerce, Law and Management. He delivered his address after Wits University awarded him an Honorary Doctorate in Commerce on 15 July at the Wits Great Hall. This honour acknowledges his role in the betterment of South African society, the development of soccer in the country, and uplifting disadvantaged youth, amongst others. SOWETO - Having made a sensational comeback from injury to score the winning goal barely a minute after coming off the bench in Tuesday’s 1-0 Betway Premiership victory over Magesi, Ashely Du Preez now turns his attention to Saturday’s crucial Nedbank Cup quarterfinal against his former club, Stellenbosch FC, at the Nelson Mandela Bay stadium in Gqeberha. JOHANNESBURG - The South African entertainment industry has been left reeling in shock following the sudden passing of comedian, actor, and writer Ebenhaezer Dibakwane . Creative agency Pickled Ginger released a statement following the acclaimed comedian's death.   The statement reads: We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of celebrated comedian, actor, and writer Ebenhaezer Dibakwane. A friend to so many, he will be remembered for his off-the-wall humour, original style of stand-up comedy and the joy he brought to audiences across South Africa. Born in 1994, the youngish comic caught waves in when he won the Savanna Comics’ Choice Newcomer of The Year Award. He subsequently won a second Savanna Comics’ Choice Award for Intermediate Comedian of The Year as well as two other Comic’s Choice nominations, showing how immensely popular and respected he was in the industry.
