Heidelberg Correctional Facility raided by EST and SAPS

GAUTENG - On Monday, 8 December 2025, the Anti-Gang Unit (AGU), under the leadership of Lieutenant Colonel Arends, conducted a search operation at the Heidelberg Correctional Facility. This initiative was executed in collaboration with facility management, including the Communications Department, the Emergency Support Team (EST), and various units of the South African Police Service (SAPS). The operation involved the search of over 100 inmates, resulting in the confiscation of numerous illegal items, including cellphones, chargers, earphones, a laptop, cash, dagga, tattoo machines, and various grocery items. On Wednesday, 10 December 2025, the #AGU returned to the Boksburg Correctional Facility for another search of approximately 150 inmates, resulting in the seizure of contraband such as multiple cellphones, a mini hi-fi, chargers, a knife, various grocery items, dagga, and cash. JOHANNESBURG - President Cyril Ramaphosa embarked on a walk-about of the Walter Sisulu Square of Dedications ahead of the G20 summit held in the City of Johannesburg. The President participated in the CEO-City Cleanup Partnership Programme in Kliptown. According to government, this is a key initiative by the City of Johannesburg in Partnership with the Private Sector. The programe unites entities and prominent CEOs from Johannesburg and aims to expedite urban renewal, enhance service delivery, and restore dignity within high-priority precincts.

Shebeshxt remanded in custody, case postponed to next week Friday

POLOKWANE - Limpopo superstar Shebeshxt was remanded in custody and his case for attempted murder was postponed to next week Friday. Lehlogonolo Chauke, also known as Shebeshxt appeared in Court at Polokwane, Limpopo Province today. The case has been postponed to next week Friday, as NPA seeks to consolidate several other violent cases he is accused of committing.  The 30-year-old Lekompo artist is facing charges of attempted murder, possession of an unlicensed firearm, and malicious damage to property, all linked to a road-rage shooting last month. He was arrested on Wednesday morning Bendor, a suburb in Polokwane. This is a developing story.

Limpopo superstar Shebeshxt arrested for attempted murder

POLOKWANE - Limpopo superstar Shebeshxt, has been arrested on two counts of attempted murder on 12 November. Real name, Lehlogonolo Katlego Chauke, was nabbed by police following a shooting incident in Polokwane last month (October). It is reported that the Lekompo artist fired shots during a road rage brawl. The arrest took place in the morning in Bendor, a suburb in Polokwane. Police have confirmed that Shebeshxt has been charged with attempted murder. He is expected to appear before the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, 13 November 2025, to face the charge.

TRAGIC: Carnage outside Silverstar Casino, onlookers warned against sharing footage

KRUGERSDORP - Onlookers have been warned from sharing footage from a major accident outside Silverstar Casino this morning.  It has been reported that a truck lost its brakes and crashed into multiple vehicles, with at least 20 vehicles involved. Emergency services were being notified and response efforts are underway. Motorists have been urged to avoid the area and allow space for emergency vehicles to operate.

SAD: Madlanga Commission Witness Marius van der Merwe shot dead

BRAKPAN - QRF Task Team Owner and Madlanga Commission Witness Marius van der Merwe was fatally shot in Brakpan, east of Johannesburg. Van der Merwe, a key witness (Witness D) at the Madlanga Commission, was tragically shot and killed last night (Friday) in front of his family. He had recently testified before the commission, where he implicated several high-ranking police officials — including Ekurhuleni Metro Police Department senior officer Julius Mkhwanazi — in allegations of corruption and the cover-up of a murder case. The motive for the attack remains unclear at this stage. Authorities have launched an investigation into the killing.
