Kidnapped businessman rescued, wanted Mozambican kidnapper fatally wounded

KEMPTON PARK - The South African Police Service (SAPS) Anti-Kidnapping Task Team has safely reunited an Indian businessman with his family following a shootout with an alleged mastermind behind the businessman’s kidnapping. The businessman was found in Alexandra in a shack shortly after midnight on Thursday, 04 September 2025. His rescue follows a shooting in which the alleged mastermind behind his kidnapping was shot and killed during confrontation with police officers near the R21 in Kempton Park on Wednesday evening. The suspect who goes by the nickname “Dollarman” is a wanted kidnapping kingpin in both SA and in Mozambique. He is on SERNIC which is Mozambique’s wanted persons database where he was a wanted for several kidnapping for ransoms cases. In SA he was also linked to at least five kidnapping for ransom cases as well as other cases of housebreaking, carjacking and possession of unlicensed firearms. Official funerals afforded to fallen constables, memorial service announced


BLOEMFONTEIN - After a meeting, which was held between the families of the late Constables Cebekhulu Linda (24), Boipelo Senoge (24), and Keamogetswe Buys (30), the Premier of the Free State, Honourable Maqueen Letsoha-Mathae and the Provincial Commissioner of Police in the Free State, Lieutenant General Baile Motswenyane, a decision has been taken to afford and honour the members with official funerals.

The official funerals will take place on separate dates between 08 and 10 May 2025. Specific details for each funeral are as follows:

Constable Boipelo Senoge

Constable Cebekhulu Linda

In tribute to the dedication and service of the late constables, a memorial service will be held on Tuesday, 06 May 2025, in Bloemfontein. The memorial service will be held at Bobbiespark, 02 Hannah Street, Bloemfontein and will start at 12:00.
