Kidnapped businessman rescued, wanted Mozambican kidnapper fatally wounded

KEMPTON PARK - The South African Police Service (SAPS) Anti-Kidnapping Task Team has safely reunited an Indian businessman with his family following a shootout with an alleged mastermind behind the businessman’s kidnapping. The businessman was found in Alexandra in a shack shortly after midnight on Thursday, 04 September 2025. His rescue follows a shooting in which the alleged mastermind behind his kidnapping was shot and killed during confrontation with police officers near the R21 in Kempton Park on Wednesday evening. The suspect who goes by the nickname “Dollarman” is a wanted kidnapping kingpin in both SA and in Mozambique. He is on SERNIC which is Mozambique’s wanted persons database where he was a wanted for several kidnapping for ransoms cases. In SA he was also linked to at least five kidnapping for ransom cases as well as other cases of housebreaking, carjacking and possession of unlicensed firearms. Alleged rape case against Soapie star's son postponed for further investigations


RANDBURG - The alleged rape matter against Donell Mbele(23), was postponed by the Randburg Magistrates’ Court to 14 April 2025, to allow for the disclosure of the contents of the docket.

The accused is facing two charges of rape stemming from a complaint filed with the Police by his 17-year-old girlfriend. The complainant alleges that the accused raped her on 14 and 15 December 2024 at his residence in Morningside. According to her statement, the two had gone on a date at Clearwater Mall on 14 December 2024 where they consumed beverages.

 When the restaurant was about to close, they decided to move to a different venue. The accused then suggested they stop by his place to charge his phone, which is when the alleged incidents occurred. 

The accused is currently out on R1000 bail while awaiting his next court appearance.
