JUST IN: Truck crash and diesel spillage cause total road closure of N1

JOHANNESURG - Following the earlier motor vehicle accident involving two trucks on the N1 South before Maraisburg Road, the Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD) has confirmedt that all lanes of the N1 South are closed to traffic. According to JMPD, this closure is necessary to allow emergency personnel to safely manage the scene and clear the diesel spillage and overturned vehicle. "Three slight injuries have been reported, and one of the trucks has overturned, spilling diesel. Emergency personnel and Law Enforcement are on scene, and initially, three lanes were affected and closed off, causing heavy delays. "All lanes of the N1 South are currently closed before Maraisburg Road. Vehicles are being diverted at Gordon Road. Significant and heavy traffic congestion is being experienced on the N1 South and surrounding areas," said JMPD. Alleged rape case against Soapie star's son postponed for further investigations

RANDBURG - The alleged rape matter against Donell Mbele(23), was postponed by the Randburg Magistrates’ Court to 14 April 2025, to allow for the disclosure of the contents of the docket.

The accused is facing two charges of rape stemming from a complaint filed with the Police by his 17-year-old girlfriend. The complainant alleges that the accused raped her on 14 and 15 December 2024 at his residence in Morningside. According to her statement, the two had gone on a date at Clearwater Mall on 14 December 2024 where they consumed beverages.

 When the restaurant was about to close, they decided to move to a different venue. The accused then suggested they stop by his place to charge his phone, which is when the alleged incidents occurred. 

The accused is currently out on R1000 bail while awaiting his next court appearance.

DURBAN - A family Pitbull was stabbed in the chest after it attacked four members of a family aged between 10 and 76. Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) received several  frantic calls for immediate assistance from residents from Tottenham Road in Parkgate about. 17:41 on Friday afternoon.  Reaction Officers and Paramedics converged on the scene and  found four people that had suffered extensive injuries and blood loss after being attacked by a 2.5 year old Pitbull named Patches. Paramedics stabalized and expedited the injured to a local hospital.  Reaction Officers found Patches on the premise with a stab wound to the chest.
