#Zanzou: "Audit all nightclubs" - Mmusi Maimane

PRETORIA - South Africa (BOSA) leader Mmusi Maimane has weighed in on the #Zanzou nightclub saga, demanding government to audit all nightclubs.

"Minister Senzo Mchunu we have heard disturbing reports of drug activity in nightclubs and now we have seen very disturbing footage of torture in a Tshwane nightclub.

"I urge you to make sure that this matter is investigated thoroughly and that all involved face justice," Maimane wrote to the Police Minister.

Although the police have encouraged the victims of the sexual assault to come forward and open cases, Maimane has also called on on SAPS to urgently update the public on the facts, the timelines, the investigating officers and the turnaround times for dealing with this matter in a press conference.

"What happened in this nightclub is a symptom of what is happening across South Africa in these establishments. We cannot let evil persist while we do nothing," he said.

More videos depicting men being tortured continue to make rounds on social media.

Zanzou nightclub remains closed as law enforcement continues to probe the matter.

This is a developing story.
