JUST IN: Truck crash and diesel spillage cause total road closure of N1

JOHANNESURG - Following the earlier motor vehicle accident involving two trucks on the N1 South before Maraisburg Road, the Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD) has confirmedt that all lanes of the N1 South are closed to traffic. According to JMPD, this closure is necessary to allow emergency personnel to safely manage the scene and clear the diesel spillage and overturned vehicle. "Three slight injuries have been reported, and one of the trucks has overturned, spilling diesel. Emergency personnel and Law Enforcement are on scene, and initially, three lanes were affected and closed off, causing heavy delays. "All lanes of the N1 South are currently closed before Maraisburg Road. Vehicles are being diverted at Gordon Road. Significant and heavy traffic congestion is being experienced on the N1 South and surrounding areas," said JMPD. US President Donald Trump signs Executive Order to cut aid to South Africa

WASHINGTON - US President Donald Trump signed an Executive Order to cut financial assistance and humanitarian aid to South Africa.

On Friday, 7 February, the White House announced the executive order, citing the disapproval of the South Africa's recently passed Land Expropriation Bill and further punishing the country for its genocide case at the International Court of Justice against Washington’s ally Israel.

The executive order from The White House further imposed the following:

Sec. 2. Policy. It is the policy of the United States that, as long as South Africa continues these unjust and immoral practices that harm our Nation:
          (a) the United States shall not provide aid or assistance to South Africa; and
          (b) the United States shall promote the resettlement of Afrikaner refugees escaping government-sponsored race-based discrimination, including racially discriminatory property confiscation.

     Sec. 3. Assistance. (a) All executive departments and agencies (agencies), including the United States Agency for International Development, shall, to the maximum extent allowed by law, halt foreign aid or assistance delivered or provided to South Africa, and shall promptly exercise all available authorities and discretion to halt such aid or assistance.
          (b) The head of each agency may permit the provision of any such foreign aid or assistance that, in the discretion of the relevant agency head, is necessary or appropriate.

DURBAN - A family Pitbull was stabbed in the chest after it attacked four members of a family aged between 10 and 76. Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) received several  frantic calls for immediate assistance from residents from Tottenham Road in Parkgate about. 17:41 on Friday afternoon.  Reaction Officers and Paramedics converged on the scene and  found four people that had suffered extensive injuries and blood loss after being attacked by a 2.5 year old Pitbull named Patches. Paramedics stabalized and expedited the injured to a local hospital.  Reaction Officers found Patches on the premise with a stab wound to the chest. The Pitbull was still breathing and immediate assistance was sought from the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) to assist the animal.  According to witnesses, the family was preparing meals to break fast when the Pitbull attacked the 10 year old child. Eleven suspects intercepted for illegal mining in Gauteng

KINSGWAY - The Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) Intervention Unit Officers in conjunction with EMPD K9 Unit Officers, arrested 11 undocumented foreign nationals males between the ages of twenty (20) and fifty(50) years old, for illegal mining and contravention of the Immigration Act in the Kingsway area on Tuesday, 7 May.   According to EMPD, Officers carried out a sting operation as part to help curb the high number of illegal mining activities in the City of Ekurhuleni.
